Can I reject an offer?

I had raised a PPI complaint and had also gotten the financial ombudsman involved as the complaint was not progressing. I have since been sent a letter from the bank detailing that the offer was from 2000-2007 as they had no records from 1998-2000 (1998-is when I opened the account and commenced paying PPI). They have asked me to complete a form attaching documents for ID to be paid what they are proposing. However, I am not happy with this as I started payments in 1998 and only cancelled it in2012 when I first heard the news about PPI payments. The bank doesn't seem to be including the payments from 2007-2012, nor do they mention them.
What can I do next?
Thanks!

If you supply them copies of your statements, they are required to use those in calculating redress. Without evidence of payment, you are largely reliant on the goodwill of the lender in respect of periods when it cannot be proven you paid PPI or not. Some banks will consider an average but it really depends on what the evidence points to.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If you were quite happy to pay them up to 2012 how can you now complain.....make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
The banks only usually pay back 6 years as they often no longer hold the statement records prior to this. So its up to you to supply the statements prior to 2000. Unsure why you not had it paid after 2007, ask them?0

Why would the OP need to supply statements prior to 2007 when the Bank have offered to pay up to 2007?So its up to you to supply the statements prior to 2007.
I wonder did the OP actually pay any PPI after 2007? It's possible the credit card account was not used after 2007, which would mean that no PPI would be payable or be refunded.0 -

I had been using the card after 2007, would the best thing to do be getting the bank statements to use as proof? I would need to ask the bank for these as I don't have them0 -

Did you borrow on the card after 2007 or pay it back each month in full?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
