Tesco credit card. Worst customer service ever

We used to exclusively use a tescos credit card due to their excellent reward program. Always paying off balance in full every month, and never exceeding credit limit. The stopped a purchase as part of their fraud prevention program, but would not speak to joint card holder. This was inconvenient and slightly annoying, but 4 weeks later they did exactly the same again at the same retailer. This retailer sell products electronics cheaper than Tescos, are they making this difficult for customers so they use their own retail branch, ensuring their market dominance? Despite their assurances that the would authorise second cardholder for basic security, they did not. They have also stopped the card when we were on a day out shopping twice, putting us in a very embarrassing situation at a customer service desk. Their customer service was shocking. I have now stopped using this card. They treated me as a number and do not care about individual customers. They are so big that to loose one customer does not matter to them. The customer service rep I spoke to was even reluctant to give me his name so that I could identify him in correspondence.

    No. No they're not.

There's no such thing as a joint card holder, because there's no such thing as a joint CC account.

There isn't a joint card holder, just someone who is authorised to use the card. However they are not liable to pay the bill, you are.

I've bought £2k worth of electrical equipment elsewhere and also use my Tesco cc in other supermarkets and petrol stations. They've never minded.

Always take a second method of payment, just in case.

If you're really unhappy, make a complaint in writing.

hardly use myn in Tesco, so don't agree with you. The shop is likely to be a high risk one hence they blocked. As others have said the second card holder is not an account contact
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Sounds like they have concerns over the genuineness of that retailer or the proper use of the card there.

If this is the "worst", you've been very lucky in life.

OP Would any of your transactions have resulted in you exceeding your limit?
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

You have succinctly summed up Tesco's whole operating system ! :rotfl:
