POPLA rule that a foreign address can be one for 'service'

Options
A POPLA appeal won today confirms that Australia (or presumably any other foreign address between there and the UK) meets PoFA 2012 requirements for, in the case of the driver, a convenient address for service.

The Prankster has blogged it here:

But I do like his final caveat for anyone considering submitting a fictitious foreign address:
However, do not be tempted to lie and give a fake foreign address. This would be perverting the course of justice, and as Chris Huhne found out, likely to end up needing you to add a third address for a period of some months.

Anyone with an overseas holiday home could use that, I suppose. It's not fake. I have a (perfectly valid) US mailbox address. Maybe I could use that if I, as a driver, pick up a charge when driving someone else's car...

Not sure it's PCOJ to give the PPC a fake address, though. It's not a criminal matter, after all.

It doesn't even need to be convenient if it's where the driver lives. The North Pole would work if that's where his home is.

I've yet to see signage that forbade reindeer crapping in the car park, but I wouldn't be surprised if UKCPS is working on it!
