bmi baby and flight cancellation

About 6 weeks ago i was due on a flight with bmi baby that was first delayed then cancelled.
On visitng the helpdesk they booked me on to a different, later, flight and i was handed a cancellation claim form which stated as the flight was cancelled i was entitled to compensation.
This amounted to approx £220.00
I filled the form in and posted, the form advised i would receive within 7 days.
i left it 4 weeks as i went on holiday but no reply, so 2 weeks ago wrote a letter chasing.
I have heard nothing and find myself unable to locate anyway of contacting them other than post.
Does anyone know of any phone number or email for customer service at Castle Donington?

There is a BMI Rep from Head Office "Joanna" who posts on the board and sorts out problems for everyone reallt quickly, if you register and leave her a message I am sure she will get you sorted quickly.
or you can email diamond (DOT) club (AT) flybmi.com
Put in the message ATTN JOANNA.. Its the Diamond (Frequest Flyer Members), contact address but is monitored and will get you sorted
Another one to send to is customer (DOT) relations (AT) flybmi.com that may get it pushed in the correct direction

I have just recently found out that i am pregnant and myself and my husband booked flights about 4 months ago for Friday 26th October to fly to Birmingham. I have been advised by my GP not to fly and am currently absent from work due to being really ill under care of my GP. I have phoned the only number that was available to get some assistance on cancellation and claiming back the taxes, fees and charges which make up £77 of the £108 charged for the flight and since Friday have had 3 different stories. From managers also there who say that they cannot help and that only charge they will refund is £10 but will charge £9 for cancellation fee. When asked they were unable to give me a number to call head office and said only contact is in writing. I asked for call back and was told in no way was this possible. It is disgusting that there is no point of contact to offer assistance in any way. I believe that i am correct in asking for refund of taxes as we will not be flying therefore why should we be paying any taxes, also if they are a non refundable airline as i was told they can sell these seats on now for same price and make double the money. That seems to me to be very wrong. I am going to trying to get my money back.:mad:0

Hello Meera,
Deep breath!
This is the official BMI Baby Terms & Conditions:
"If you do not use your Ticket, you will be entitled to claim a refund of any governmental taxes, less a service charge of £20 per passenger."
Also have you tried your own insurance for the balance? I presume you have purchased travel insurance?
Follow the above.
You won't speak to someone in head office, it's not worthy of arguing the toss over the rest of your points, just follow the terms and conditions. It's completely understandable that any communication you have with them has to be in writing. You clearly understand it was a non-refundable ticket, so don't start getting angry with the airline now you have to cancel!0 -
for anyone having as much trouble contacting BMI customer services as me here is their email address, please pass it round!

Post #2 was helpful, but gave information about dealing with BMI. Post #1 was about a problem with BMI baby, which is a separate airline.0

I booked flights with BMI baby which they cancelled and promised a refund within 10 days. I have now written twice to customer services and had no reply or refund.I have used the e mail address posted on this site to send copies of the letters but now think that they cannot be bothered to refund me Any suggestions?0

Hi Mark and Kate
We have had this problem too. We had flights cancelled on 18th July and only recieved a letter on 28th Sep ssaying we were only entitled to our flight refund. Anyway we are now in Nov still with no money and so have started small claims court proceedings. I am fed up wasting my money on stamps so thought I would give the court a try ! Maybe you should try the same ?:D0
