Credit card protection?

Hello,i wonder If anyone can help with my possible problem?
Bought two new sofa,s from DFS,one has a problem and the store is sending someone out to inspect it on monday,we paid for them both on a Halifax credit card,deposit of approx £400.00 and payment of £1000.00 on delivery but have since payed the card off and closed it,do we still have purchase protection ( section 75 or something similar ) from Halifax?

Whats gone wrong with DFS resolving the issue?

Whilst you have joint rights under S75 with both merchant and the credit provider the reality is the merchant is normally better placed to deal with things quickly compared to the credit provider. Of cause if the merchant has gone bust or is ignoring you etc then the S75 becomes useful

The sofa whilst only a couple of months old has a mark on the front,the colour has come off the beading on one of the cushions,no body has sat on it with jeans etc nor have the grandchildren climbed on it with shoes etc,
I am only presuming the worst that when DFS come out to look at they say "it has been damaged by someone sitting on it and not their responsibility"
This is the second suite we have had of DFS, the last one was white leather and lasted about 15 years with no problems. ( probably being a bit paranoid with this one) will wait till inspected.
