Just over 2 years ago I took out a plan with bt, where I recived broardband, mobile phone and home phone with totaly free call divert as I have my home phone diverted all the time to my mobil, this was agreed at £57 plus vat a month, I noticed that the BB was not unlimited so upgraded for an extra fiver a month.
All was fine until I recived an email near the end of my 2 year contract for a free mobile upgrade.
I took this upgrade and my bills sudenly shot up to around £120 a month, so I called them and they said because I had the upgrade I was now contracted for another 2 years, I did not sign anything and was not informed of the price hike.
Is there anyway out of it, as im now lumbered until August next year.
The bill also changed from one plan to one bill???

A contract extension or renewal always involves a new minimum term, no signature is necessary.
Your contract wasn't 'coming to an end' (only your minimum term was); if you had declined, it would simply have continued on the same terms.
It's up to you to check the T&C's and pricing before your recontract, because nothing is ever really free.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
  • My contract was up by 2 months, they offered a free mobile upgrade, there was no mention that the prices would almost double, a free upgrade is just that and should mean that.
Is there anyway out of the new none signed contract ??????
Can I change providers without any penalties????
a further 12 months will be up in the middle of August

You don't need to sign anything for the contract to be valid .
You can change provider but your current provider will require you to pay off your remaining contract .
