Holiday accommodation UK - TV did not work

Hi
We recently stayed in a reasonably expensive holiday house in the UK and none of the TVs worked from the beginning of the stay (Friday evening) until Tuesday evening, when it was repaired.
So we didn't have it available properly until Wednesday evening,
We initially notified them on the Sunday when we were sure it wasn't temporary and had to chase them on Monday. They claim they did not receive a call on Sunday so they are claiming it was just one day (Mon to Tues) (we are checking phone records). We had to chase them several times before they would send an engineer. They sent a oddjobman, at first, who couldn't fix it.
They've refused any sort of refund for this, in a rather aggressive manner. Do we have any right to one (we only expect c£100-200 - the week cost £1000 so we think that is reasonable. We haven't given them an amount).
Thank you!

I think that £200 is ridiculous. The cost of a brand new television because you couldn't watch one for a few days? One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

You missed the £100 to £200. And the price depends on the quality of the TV you buy. And the point is that the there was defect in the equipment. It was a holiday. It could have been anything.0 -
Difficult to put a price on but I think 10-20% is rather excessive.
I would personally think if any refund was to be asked for, I would only be asking for around £25.
In the grand scheme of things, what you get when you rent a holiday apartment, the TV is only a very small part of it.0 -
I guess we are disgruntled by the treatment, as well. And the lack of any gesture from the firm (just a bit of a bad attitude).
The lack of the TV did spoil our enjoyment (it was during the World Cup - I realise that's neither here nor there) and it was part of the deal.0 -
I don't think you'd be entitled to much at all really. You admit you were only watching it in the evenings and they fixed it the next working day (considering it was reported on the weekend).0

Thanks for the perspective!0

I agree with the others, the tv is only a small part of what you're paying for. Even £100 (10%) would be more than I'd expect, especially if it was repaired mid stay. How was it advertised? How much emphasis was given to the tv's?0
-
The advertising said they had TV in every bedroom and the lounge. No more than that.
We also stayed with them in another place before and we accidentally spilled something on a sofa seat which left a stain. They charged us the full deposit (20%) which we thought was fair.
But I can see the consensus here and thanks for it!0 -
I must say it's a refreshing change for someone to not hear what they wanted to, and remain polite. Thank you
