Life Ins and Critical Illness Reclaim??

Hi new to this so if I am in wrong place please advise!
When visiting bank years ago prob for a loan, I was asked if my wife and I had life insurance, we didnt and were passed over to a Scottish Widows rep in branch who set us up with suitable cover and even came out to our home within days to get signatures.
As I was in the Forces this cover was prob not needed or valid,
can this be considered as mis sold and should I put a claim in for this??
Even though my loans paperwork doesnt have PPI on it should I still ask?
Thanks

Ok so I think I might have used the wrong wording there!
I already had cover with the military and this new one could have been worthless as it may not have covered me for work related injuries etc. and as I already had cover then why would I get more? Very good salesman making me think I needed it.0 -
No I was in the forces, but my wife not. we ended up with separate policies anyway.0

Life insurance and PPI are two completely different things.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
s I was in the Forces this cover was prob not needed or valid,
1 - are you immortal?
2 - what makes you think a medically underwritten policy at point of sale that takes into account your occupation would not be valid?I already had cover with the military and this new one could have been worthless as it may not have covered me for work related injuries etc.
Neither of those policies is meant to cover those things. So, complaining that they dont is pointless. its a bit like complaining to your car dealer than your car hasnt got wings and cant fly.and as I already had cover then why would I get more?
Because you had liabilities and you are married. Too very good reasons why people take out additional life assurance.
I'm struggling to see anything wrong here. Had you been sold PPI then it would be a certain complaint. However, life assurance and CI cover are not PPI and do not suffer the same issues and you are not saying anything that suggests any wrongdoing.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
