Incompetent Phoenix Life

Options
My husband passed away December 2012 and 19 months on Phoenix Life are quibbling over whether a Trust Deed used the Assurance policy as an asset or not. The Deed was closed in 2009.
Phoenix Life are choosing not to accept a letter written in October 2013 by the Trustee stating they did not realise the funds of the Assurance policy at the time, nor do they have any interest in it. Therefore, the policy was returned to my late husband in 2009 and as such, now forms part of his estate.
The case is in the Phoenix complaints department and has been reported to the Financial Ombudsman. I have spoken to the FO who haven't been able to get any information from Phoenix!!
I have spoken to the Prudential Regulatory Authority, the Financial Conduct Authority and the CAB. Nobody can help!
What have Phoenix Life been doing with the information they received almost a year ago??????? And what can I do??? Help!

My understanding of this is that life insurance payouts would go to the trustee of the bankruptcy unless you bought back the policy, but this is Scottish and I dont know if its the same or not as in England.

If so then FOS cant help you, they are only going to instruct on the correct thing to do. The trustees should be giving you the correct answer though.
