Problem With Npower Billing.

In December 2013 I switched from Npower to Ecotricity for electricity and gas. On 10/04/14 Npower took £55.51 from my bank account which I considered to be for energy I had already paid Ecotricity for. I complained to Npower via npoweronline@npower.com and the transaction was cancelled. So far so good.
Since then I have received no fewer than 6 "Reminders" from Npower for the sum they had refunded, the latest one dated 12/07/14 telling me that I had not replied to any of their letters and that my account could go to a debt recovery team. Furthermore each Reminder is for a different amount: £55.51, £19.01, £36.50 (twice!)
How can they say I have not replied to them when I have written to them 3 times, emailed them once and lodged a formal complaint on their website?
P.S. Despite several requests I have also NOT received an itemised bill for the money they claim I owe!

As I stated above I have written to them THREE times but they still keep sending me Reminders stating that they have not heard from me.
I gave up 'phoning them because each time I tried I was told by a robot voice that there was a 26 to 40 minute wait to be connected to a human. Who in their right mind is going to sit holding a dead 'phone for half an hour!
Today I have written yet another letter (the fourth) to their Customer Relations Department in Burton on Trent. Npower are harder to tie down than Lord Lucan!0
