Hi all, hope someone can advise. I got a PCN in a supermarket car park today which was issued by a private company. As I live in N Ireland should I pay or ignore. Help greatly appreciated.

You need to read the Newbies Sticky at the top of this forum - the NI-specific entries tell you exactly what to do.

Ignore absolutely completely - Norn Iron is the same as Scotland as far as PCNs are concerned.0

It is always the very first thread in this forum - you don't need any effort to find it!0 -

In N.Ireland your only options are to ignore, or appeal to the landowner, or whoever engaged the parking scumbags.

The top thread = is at the top, we thought you weren't a newbie as you have 35 posts! You are only one click away from page one, just hop back to page one of this forum. Stating the obvious in case you've never yet found out how to use the forum effectively:irish_angel wrote: »Thank you pogofish, will do if I can find it, so many threads I'm fried
The 'home' page (one) of the forum is always one hop back - one click on the breadcrumb trail (little blue linky above). My signature tells you where to click in case you can't see the words up the top. Click on the little breadcrumb trail link now and the first page will be revealed, with all todays answered threads.
Then read the NEWBIES thread. PLEASE just read the top thread, it's why it's there to stop endless 'I have got a private parking ticket - heeelllllppp!!' threads as we can't cope with those and almost none need a new thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Euro car parks
Will any of this make a difference?0 -
CM I must have picked up the wrong message somewhere but what I was reading was not to hijack some one else's thread, that's why I posted a new one. Sorry if this was wrong, still a very new newbie despite 35 posts, bit slow on the uptake!!0

No it's understandable, as you had never seen the top thread. I am just saying that once you read it you would realise there is no need for 9 out of 10 threads at all! Certainly the advice about Scotland and NI couldn't be clearer and simpler - ignore it!irish_angel wrote: »CM I must have picked up the wrong message somewhere but what I was reading was not to hijack some one else's thread, that's why I posted a new one. Thanks for the information, Euro Car Parks are not veryactive in NI, the ignore advice still applies. AFAIK no PPC has ever tried acourt claim in NI, so you are safe to ignore.
You may however want to complain vociferously to the manager of Dunnes. All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing. Edmund Burke Irish orator, philosopher, & politician (1729 - 1797).0
