Npower billing errors

Thanks for your responses, it's interesting to have other people's opinions.
I still think that as a DD payer, (I've now cancelled it so the credit is just sitting there) I fall under someone who has paid, and should be refunded for usage over a year. Npower said to me the payments are not put against a bill or usage period until a bill is produced.
I've spoken to npower a number of times now and each customer support member says I will be refunded by 4000 as they can only bill one year now.
Fingers crossed I do get the money back, it's disgraceful that bills are not produced for so long when they are taking such large payments. I'm happy to pay for energy, but not happy to wait 2 years, not able to budget properly. I wouldn't accept it from any other supplier or shop.0 -

Any monies you paid NPower in the period prior to the last 12 months, can be set against the bill for that same period.
As stated in post#2 and post#4 either the Npower representatives you spoke to have got it wrong, or you have misunderstood what they said.If you're thinking all your payments will only count towards your bill from the last 12 months and you get the rest back, you're misunderstanding it.
Essentially all the payments you made before that last 12 months will go towards the bill for that period.0
