Hiya,
What's the best way to store and download digital photos from your camera?
I have windows XP and want to be able to transfer my photos to disc/dvd to play back onto the tv. Do you require special equipment to ensure good picture quality when you play back on tv?
Thanks.

Hi, your camera probably has a USB port on the side or base and probably also has a USB cable. Connect the camera to the PC and a window should pop up asking what you want to do. You can select the option to open the folder and you'll be browsing the photos on the camera. You can then use CD burning software (Nero, Roxio etc) to burn to CD/DVD and/or make it viewable on your DVD player/TV. If your camera didn't come with a USB cable, they can be bought really cheaply for a couple pounds of less.
Or, if your camera takes a memory card, you can take out the memory card and use a card reader to view the photos on it. Card readers are really cheap and you can get them for well under a fiver. You'll need to know what type of card the camera uses, Olympus is usually XD, others are SD (Secure Digital) but others also use different formats.

To download your pictures you will need to connect your camera to your PC or alternatively use a card reader to get photo's of your memory card.
To play your pictures back on your TV you will need some slideshow software. I use Photodex's Pro Show Gold. It's not difficult to create a show and you can add music if you wish.
You can output your shows to CD(VCD), DVD etc and other than needing a dvd burner that's it.No Links in Signatures by Site Rules - MSE Forum Team 20 -
I currently use Picasa to manage all my pictures."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

So do I, and it is free.;)
I'd been putting off trying out for so long because of my prejudice against so many things trying to install it as an addition and because it was part of the google pack, but so far I've found it to be the best picture manager I've tried yet."She is quite the oddball.
