Inundated with Spam "Accident" Calls

I am fuming
For the past week I have been getting 5 or 6 calls per day on my mobile from Companies about "my accident". Each call has been from different companies, the latest was an Isle of Skye number!
What I want to know is WHO is selling my data on. The girl from the company tonight (sorry cannot remember the name of the company) told me they had got my details from Churchill Insurance who have advised them I had been in an accident. Now (as I touch wood) I have a blemish free driving record for 35 years and am insured through VW Insure and have NEVER been insured with Churchill.
Now I can understand getting the odd call about this and PPI etc but 5 or 6 a day this is getting beyond a joke now.
Does anyone have any ideas/suggestions how I can put an end to this.
Thanks

I often get calls from people saying they have heard I have had an accident - I always just say - 'wow an accident? Have I? Oh that's funny because unless it involved memory loss, then I really don't think I have! So Bye!....click!:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

As I said I can understand getting the odd call but for the past week I am getting 5 to 6 a day :mad:The best things in life are free.....0 -
Could be the phone book, any company you've ever given your phone number to... The spammers just call on spec, with absolutely no idea whether you've had an accident, ever had PPI, are really elegible for a free boiler/insulation etc and are quite prepared to lie about anything and everything.
As the TPS is really just a joke, would suggest you start 'spamming' your MP by email - if enough people start complaining regularly, maybe something wll be done to improve the current (lack of) controls (yeah, don't hold your breath and all that).0 -
I've been getting loads too, not that many but enough to get on my nerves. They seem to be stopping now, since I started making up accidents saying things like, um ok yeah I had an accident a week last Friday, put down about 2pm, how much will that be worth please?
They don't seem to find it amusing....StayHome * StaySafe * BeKind0 -
I used to get these a lot for my husband but on my mobile number. In the end I told them my husband died in the accident they were ringing about! Hasn't stopped the calls completely, but, my word, it has slowed them down.0

Have you recently gone for a car insurance renewal quote?0 -

In my head I am blaming registering for that wretched "unroll" me as these only started the day after I registered
I haven't registered for that, but I only get maybe 2 or 3 per week xStayHome * StaySafe * BeKind0
