Building Credit - Pay rent by Credit Card

I have a long term goal of buying a house. I'm a long way off but determined to make it happen. I'm currently trying to build my credit to make me attractive to lenders. A friend suggested paying my rent by Credit Card and then clearing it straight away. I rent privately, never missed a payment in 8 years. Is this possible and would it boost my credit profile?

Yes it would - if you are allowed to pay rent by credit card.
Spending on a credit card and paying it off in full will help. The specifics of what you spend on don't matter. What will your verse be?

I currently do this although my landlord does not like to accept credit cards as there is a perceived risk if debt issues.
Just ensure you have the money ready in a safe place to pay it back the minute your statement is produced the following month.
Good luck!0
