Regardless of where they get the money? You'd be amazed at peoples 'rainy day funds'.
If someone is in dire financial straits and are being hounded and do not know where to turn, what benefit does a letter like this offer the debtor? None whatsoever. Again - Why didn't they respond to earlier letters then ?
Remember, this isn't just going to be sent to some scumbag chav who has borrowed money without the intention to pay it back. It's sent to everyone who deserves it and a few that don't.
I know people bury their heads in the sand, but sending something like this out to someone in debt does nothing to help them deal with their problem or am I missing something here? Yes you are. As above - why didn't they take the offers of help from prior letters ?
It's simply not necessary. Except it really is and it's a proven strategy that works.
As for what action I might have taken, I have the option to make a complaint to the FOS if I want to (MB grabs crayons and starts drawing a target on his chest). For what ?

Can't see that you have any reason for a complaint other than your righteous indignation.0 -

LOL yeah, cheers... When entering into a DMP I'm allowed to ask for interest to be stopped and any charges to be be refunded and without going over my own reasons for making a complaint (which are elsewhere on this site) it's nothing to do with righteous indignation I can assure you.
As for your other points in reply to my own, you know what I obviously need to bow don't to your experiences (I read some of your old posts) so fair play but while you might have more experience with what works I still don't think that any communications should be going out to someone in debt without including details of whom to contact for debt help at the very least and while it might be a proven strategy that works who knows the reason for not replying, some will have genuine reasons (even if it is just stone cold fear) for not replying.
