Graduate Money Saving - new board?

The original point is valid. The only two times I've been in debt were immediately after I graduated.
Between getting yourself set up with a house - 1 months rent and 1 months deposit in advance, to buying clothes to work in an office, to waiting a month for that first pay check. . . .
Effectively you have to save a month and a bits pay check before you break even, and that's without the hanging around applying for jobs and going to interviews.0 -
i think it may actually be more helpful to keep those queries on here - then people who are current students will be exposed to lots of threads about what to do after graduation and will therefore be well prepared for it.... e.g. the HSBC overdraft fiasco - argueably suitable for a 'once you've graduated board', but equally important for new and current students to be aware of the situation.
i also think that anything to do with housing, bank accounts, credit cards, job hunting, tax, health etc etc are really well covered on other boards already. there are experts on those boards who know a lot about specific areas and so those are the likely to be the best places to ask questions:happyhear0 -
I agree a graduate board would be good.. what to do after you complete your degree. I've just graduated and have lots of questions! Especially about the dreaded HSBC
grrr!
Great idea Big bouncy ball!

Good. I'm pleased there seems to be enough weight behind it. I'll make a suggestion on the suggestions forum.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0
