Architrave before or after tiling?

Am having a new bathroom door fitted plus new frame and architrave etc.

After it is fitted I want to go ahead with a new bathroom including tiling. Not sure if I am having it fully tiled or just half at the moment.

One Joiner said the architrave should be fitted after the tiling. Seems a bit odd to me and what if It's only tiled halfway up the wall?

Can someone tell me which is the correct way please?

You would usually fit the lining, then hang the door and finally the architraves. The tiles are then fitted up to the architraves.
In theory you could tile first and set them back the width of the architaves back from the lining but you wouldn't gain anything from it..

    Architraves fitted first................

    Thanks! leveller2911.
    As I thought.
Got another joiner to do the job and forgot to mention what the first one had said. He is fitting the architraving like you said. Just wanted to make sure!
