Free Parking - Cornwall
I go to Cornwall every year camping and absolutely love it!However, one thing I hate is the parking charges! Does anyone know of any freeparking around the Newquay area, or any other areas in Cornwall? I’m never toosure whether I can just park on the street or not?
Thanks

Not sure if you've seen these things stick out of the ground. About 7 feet up, with writing on them....
Sorry couldn't resist0 -
where abouts are you staying in newquay , i live near there so can advise on free parking streets"If I know I'm going crazy, I must not be insane"0

I could tell you put then i would have to kill you in case you steal my space.
The daily charges have gotten out of hand. £12 a day sometimes. My camping pitch was only slightly dearer than that.
Although you do need to be careful and make sure you dont park over peoples driveways. Not even 1" on a double width drive. I spotted one home owner glueing an A4 sheet to a cars windscreen because it overhung their driveway.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Of course there are free parking places here, but we are not telling anyone where or we would have nowhere left to park.:D0

Went to Port Isaac for a long weekend recently and it was £10 a day parking there.
Loved Cornwall but the narrow roads that seem to be everywhere should be one way!!What will your verse be?

Staying at Holywell Bay, but within walking distance to the beach. We usually go into Newquay for a few days but always costs a lot to park, and also was thinking of trying visiting a few different places this year too such as maybe St Ives, Padstow...anywhere really that is dog friendly! :-)0 -
I know loads of free places ... but I'll be using them myself when I'm there, so not going to publish a list!
But here's my one free tip: Fistral Beach, the south end .... that road's free to park, overlooking the whole beach and there are steps down to the beach. Esplanade Road.0 -

The 587 bus runs hourly from Holywell Bay into Newquay, should save you money on parking and car running costs, not to mention hassle!0 -
Have you seen the prices they charge for a bus journey though?
In the Midlands when my missues goes to her dads it costs £1.80 single for 8 stops. Or a day ticket for £4.
2 or more it maybe cheaper to park. Unless the prices are cheaper down there?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
