First Plus Success - Question On Timescales

I have had a letter today stating FirstPlus will pay out! Hooray! It says they will pay in 28days on receipt of signature. Am going way, and not keen on having a cheque sat about when I'm not there (stupid, I guess, but that's me!) Anyone had a payment, and how quick was it? Wondering whether to just not send signature until I return.
Thank you.
Thank you.

Don't be silly, only you can cash the cheque.
How long are you going away for? It's likely to be far nearer the 28 day period than anytime less than that. Send your acceptance now.0
