Ongoing Parking Ticket Appeal

Will list the facts and let you know the outcome.
Parked car @ train station, using a phone number & payed by card. Confirmation text received. On return to car park, ticket on screen. Tried to talk to Vinci (a joke in itself. Waited for penalty (which duelly arrived),then appealed on the following grounds. Paid for parking, proof sent but on confirmation text it said payment received for GB56 AVY where as my car is GV56 AVY. Obviously their automated machine heard wrong. Virgin trains passing through at great speed which may have effected what was said. Simple error on someone's part but informal appeal turned down, formal appeal turned down, now at parking tribunal. Will let you know the result. Anyone been in this scenario ?

Delete your reg number NOW!
PPCs do trawl this forum looking to identify people.
Facts or your own scenario have very little to do with your appeal - You are much better to stick to the arguments listed in the Newbies Sticky - read it carefully!0 -
I would not just rely on one appeal point, especially when you should include not a gpeol , poor signage and no contract (as shown in the NEWBIES sticky thread)
and if those examples are not fictitious, make them so , dont use your car reg number as we dont need to know it and this is a public forum0 -
And if you appealed to POPLA,and it hasn't been heard, send them additional information for the appeal based on information in the newbie thread. You may still get away with it.
And for future reference, train station car parks may not be relevant land for POFA12, so keeper may never have been liable. So usual advice is to wait for notice to keeper, not appeal the windscreen ticket.
And remove your number plates from your post by clicking on the edit button on your own post.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Click on words Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking. Newbie thread is the first post. Blue New Thread button is just above it to left.0 -
now at parking tribunal. Will let you know the result
We have 100% winning record for 18 months and every case we've helped with against Vinci has been won - but NEVER relying on telling POPLA 'the story of what happened'. Eeek, that's mitigation and we know you've only just found this forum but to be fair, even the POPLA website itself tells you that you can't use mitigating circumstances of what happened. It's contract law that is considered and you sound like you've sent a POPLA appeal that admits your car reg number wasn't 'covered' so effectively Vinci will easily argue the PCN was issued appropriately (whoever's fault it was, that will lose for you at POPLA).
So read post #3 of the top thread please and remove your car reg from your post above as it is a detail that is not needed on a public open forum.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
