Hi there, im 25 in a few weeks, quick question, am i entitled to more money?
I know with jobseekers you get more if you are 25 or over.
Im currently looking for a new flat/house, but i called into the housing benefit office and they told me because im on ESA im only entitled to £41 a week, which is a disgrace
I am on the support group of ESA and currently get £230 fortnightly.
do me rates rise because of my age at 25?
Any help would be great, Thank you.

You would already be getting the same rate as someone 25 or over.
If you receive any income based ESA, you should get full housing benefit for your situation.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

If we know what type of rental you are after (council or private) and what type of ESA you get, contributions or income related), we can advise further.0

Your rate for ESA won't change because as soon as you are in the WRAG or Support group age is not a factor.
However, I am assuming that the £41 quoted for HB is because you are under 35 and therefore only entitled to the shared accommodation rate.
You may be eligible for the one bed rate if you receive certain 'premiums' because you are on DLA or PIP.
So please can you tell us if you receive DLA or PIP and which component you receive? eg. DLA middle rate for care etc etc.
Can you break down your £130 a fortnight ESA as I can't work out whether you are receiving the correct figure. (look at your award letter) Sorry, can't make the figures add up!0 -

Im presuming you meant to put £230:) Maybe he has rounded the figure up (too much) as support group max is £216 unless he has a very small premium added, or simply got his figures wrong.0 -
If on income based ESA, support group is £247 ish every fortnight.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Single support group is £123.?? a week
which is £246.?? / £247.?? a fortnight
There could be £8.?? weekly deductions for whatever.
No, it won't go up when you get to 25.0 -
