Equifax slow to remove defaults?

Just a quick query guys. We have an appointment with a mortgage advisor tomorrow to arrange a remortgage and have been waiting til this date as my partner's last default should have fell off all 3 credit files yesterday (16/7/2014). After getting copies of all 3 today it is still showing on Equifax with the settlement date of 16/07/2008 but is gone from the other two. What do you think we should do? We are away for two weeks after tomorrow and did want to start the ball rolling before we went away. Thanks in advance

Equifax are normally slow at removing them. Usually gone within 1-3 weeks of the actual date.
You can complain and try to get them taken off earlier, but by the time you do the merry-go-round of their complaints system it could well be 2-3 weeks anyway.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

What a pain! As a mortgage advisor yourself do you think we are better waiting until it has dropped off his file or do most companies use Experian?0

Ooops sorry. Will just go along to our appointment and see what our advisor said. Annoyed at Equifax but if he says to wait til we get back we will. Thank you for your advice0

Well we've been to see our independant mortgage advisor and he agrees it's best to wait until the default has dropped off Equifax. We are away from tomorrow for 2 weeks so hopefully once we get back it will have gone off Equifax and we can go ahead! Such a nuisance really when it's gone from the other two. The only other concern on our credit files is my 2 Studio accounts which were on arrangements until Jan this year but he doesn't think they were have too big an impact. I have put those 2 accounts to FOS about a month ago though so you never know they rule in my favour as if they had defaulted 10 years ago they would be long gone! So now to relax and enjoy our hols and hopefully we can get the ball rolling when we get back!!0
