If you apply for a residential mortgage with the intention of letting out the property that is fraud, obtaining money by deception, criminal offence, prosecution, criminal record, porridge for breakfast......
If you lived in a property as your home and then decided to let it out without permission that is a breach of your mortgage terms, civil matter between you and your lender. Which is pretty much what I said to the OP last night, but he chose to ignore it as it wasnt what he wanted to hear. Unfortunately whan 3 or 4 users point it out he then bleats on about not wanting to sound a bit dodgy. Doh. He knew it was fraud from the post 1, just wanted to hear lots of people say "go ahead, everybody does it, its not like really bad". Well matey, when you are in front of the judge, spouting "well 15 people on MSE said go for it" aint gonna cut much ice.
When you want to commit fraud i've found the best way is not to broadcast it. Works out better that way.0
