My Tax Disc expires at the end of December.
Do I need to continue displaying it until it expires, or can I remove it in October, when they stop issuing the discs?

You can remove it in October, when the requirement to display is removed.0

Thanks for that.0

Why bother though?0

I was just curious.0

Brilliant, a whole extra seven square inches to see the road then.
(Is there a buyer for 200 advertising tax disc holders?)0 -
Why have they done this, I am just curious too.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
From October onwards the tax will be taken by DD and it is related to the ownership of the car, not a transferable disc. When you sell, the new owner has to set up their own tax and just like MOT and insurance, with centralised databases and ANPR, no point in printing a bit of expensive paper to sit in your windscreen.0

You'll still be paying for 6 or 12 months of VED.
Apart from the non-transferability with change of keeper, and no need to display, the ONLY change is that instead of paying for the lot at once (+10% for 6mo), you'll be paying for the lot at once (+5% for 6mo) or paying for your 12mo by monthly DD (+5%). It's more like paying on drip for your year's insurance than paying-by-the-month.0 -

If we're going to be that accurate, can I ask about the holder that your disk is in? Or is that based on a clear piece of sellotape? If so, then are you factoring in the perforations and the couple of oval holes...?0
