Alllotment pictures
Feel free to post yours. I got my allotment at beginning of this year a old disused plot
This is still work in progress yet. Still to add a greenhouse and some sort of barrier between mine and next doors plus locked gate. I already put in a perimeter hedge which is Rose Rogusa needs to grow
I have to endue pigeon attacks on crops, the usually slugs and snail but biggest battle is weeds millions of seeds in the soil just waiting to grown. Oh and horsetail, docs and bindweed
Anyhow before and after pictures

It must have taken hours to clear your plot? did you use a rotavator?
The netting looks good, is that just bamboo holding it up? I would like to get something that I can bend to do a mini polytunnel shape for mine.
How did you get the photo's to load straight onto the page? I'm having terrible trouble to get mine to load.0 -
Thanks.
I hired a rotavator in March from a local hire shop after I previously used a strong weedkiller weeks before. The plot was covered in brambles which council just cut down but didnt remove them.
The netting I got from here, easy to put up there have metal rods which are covered in plastic.

You can get bigger sizes too or connect two together. Found it netting isn't fine enough to stop cabbage white butterflies though they squeeze through. I bouight some new netting of ebay which is scaffolding netting which is much finer
I uploaded pictures to here

Ok. Mine is a half plot. When I took it on, it was covered in couch grass and bindweed. There were shot parsnips dotted around in loads of different places, and behind the blackberry cordon there was loads of thistles, swede and more bloody couch grass
This is the either the day I viewed it or the day I picked up the keys. Either way, it was only 2 days apart

Five weeks and lots of hard work later, we have this
I've got 3 working beds, and I even picked some of my own produce last night
I'm in the process of sorting out bed number 4, and we've marked out 4 more beds behind the blackberries. There will be a fruit cage at the bottomI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Thank you
I've just realised that the first pic is about a week in... I saw the strimmer and garden waste bag
This one IS the day I viewed. The only thing still there is the crappy compost bin. I can't bring myself to deal with that just yet :rotfl:
