Buildings insurance - rumours of underpinning & share of freehold

Options
Sorry, this is two issues really...

Firstly, we have share of the freehold in a house converted into three flats. Our insurer won't cover us anymore, does anyone know who will take on these kinds of properties? I would have thought they were very common in cities!

Secondly, we've been told by a neighbour that the house was underpinned in the eighties. We didn't get any paper work about this when we bought the flat, the vendor didn't mention it (they lived here during that time), and our solicitor didn't find anything or she certainly would have mentioned it. Is there any way of finding out now?

I'm going to check with the neighbours upstairs who moved in a bit before us to see if they were told about it. If we can't find out that it is underpinned, is it ok to tell the new insurance company that it isn't?

Thanks!
