£80,000

Hello all,

I have approximately 80,000 to invest.

Is there any way I can invest this so I never have to work, or put my money to work in such a way that its my full time job managing it?

Best,

Dave

What would be the minimum per annum for you to live on?

Even if you could get 10% per annum (unlikely), this would be only £8000...

8000 is enough...if i choose to DJ around the world...helps with flights and accommodation but ultimately will be paid also from gigs.....

    Do you mean now?

Depending on your age I'm sure it would be possible to invest £80,000 so you don't need to work in future. Invest and leave it to grow. Just depends when in the future that is.

Don't mean to burst the bubble, but £80,000 won't go far for a 28 year old. So unfortunately you're going to have to go back to work :p

Although I strive to provide accurate information in my posts, there may be the odd time when I fail. Yes I know it's hard to believe but even Your Hero can make mistakes. Apologies in advance.

Why must there be a way of making 2 or 3 years salary last for 50 years or more?

Purely to put it in perspective for you, I retired early (43) with that same goal in mind, but with a desire NEVER to eat into the capital at all because you never know what will happen in life to upset your plans.

Ten years later, it is running to plan, but (yes, there's a very large but) I used ten times that amount and have needed it.
