Who are (0161 814 9225) ambulance chasers?
I got two phone calls off this number yesterday. A fairly young man with a heavy Mancunian accent told me I had section 4 (?) credit on my file. I asked him to explain what this meant and he said that means they're aware that I've been involved in a non-fault accident in the last 2 years and haven't claimed.
I informed him that this wasn't the case and asked him where his employers got their data from. He strongly (aggressively?) informed me this is classified information but that all data is 100% accurate. I reminded him that their data isn't 100% accurate because I don't have a non-fault claim on my file and the only non-fault accident I've been involved in was nearly 6 years ago.
He then asked me if I'd been in another accident in a different car, or if I'd been a passenger in a different car. After I insisted that I was not due any compensation he quickly ended the conversation without letting me ask where he was from and who is employers were.
Google shows up nothing much although I did find this:

Who are these guys? Normal ambulance chasers? Scam? What?

Not a SCAM but SCUM...
Seems trying to persuade people to claim for accidents they have not had is not the only type of call call from this number.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
Scumbags
report them to the following

Well they haven't hidden their number so they aren't trying too hard to stay anonymous.
No calls since.0 -

Complain to who about what file.....these companies are just phising..i so far have on 'my file' i used to work in a factory, steel works and seem to of had an 'accident in the last 6 months' for the last 5 years, the newest info on 'my file' is the failed PPI claim they can help me with to go along with all the debt i have that they can help me with!!!...
I worked for the medical services in one way or another for over 20 years in this country and abroad, never had an accident, never had PPI and don't really have much debt...
Ignore them or as i have started to do is put my phone to the dogs muzzle and whisper in his ear the postmans coming.....0 -
I think Poppie is right. They're phishing I guess. They'll say "oh we heard you were in an accident", some will say "no", some will say "yes".0

I've had several calls from similar uk numbers since the latest Aviva data leak. The last one said that the company who sold her company the info is called E worldwide services limited. But apart from basic Companies House data I can't find any info on them, so no means to contact them. I would just answer to find out if it's a spam call & once confirmed just hang up and block (I'd answer first though - you don't want to accidentally block you're mate who's just moved up north!).0

It's all a numbers game. The guy phones perhaps 200 people in a day, asking about the 'accident' they have had. Perhaps one in 10 will have had some kind of accident and says so. That's perhaps 20 leads a day. Then it becomes a speculative PI claim, or perhaps the name and number are just passed on to another outfit as a confirmed lead, for a fee of course. It's obviously making someone a lot of money, or there wouldn't be so many people doing it. I have a Truecall, and it blocks all of these from the landline, so I am not aware of them, unless I look at my call logs for a laugh. I get some on the mobile, and just google the number - there are a lot of 'who calls me' type websites which usually give a clear picture of the kind of call. Then it's block and delete time.
The whole thing is a disgrace. If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.0
