All, please listen to my story and check the bank is not charging you for a product you don't know about.. approx 13 years ago I split with my ex partner. When this happened I took my ex partner off what was then a joint account. Then 2 years later (2003) I applied an overdraft facility to my now single account. Then last year I quieried a loan guard charge tied to the facility which I was told was part of the facility so I left it. I then quieried it again early this year to find out it was actually PPI for my overdraft and it wasn't in my name.. I have spent the last 6 months with a banking complaint though various departments to be told it's my responibility to check money going out of my account. So I'm not eligible for reimbursement or compensation...this is clearly a banking error, and it's something you can't check / or would presume was correct. #RBS #bankcharges #cantbelegal #unlawfuldeductions #rbs_pressoffice #royalbankofscotland @RBS_PressOffice #RBSGroup

This obviously this can't be legal as they have applied a product that was not agreed to and in no way was signed for..the final guy I spoke to at the complaints department at RBS said I could no longer dispute this with the bank and that the fsa would reject a claim as it's my responsibility.. this can't be true either as they have unlawfully deducted money from my account without permission...

Advise please guys...Martin..

PPI mis-selling is not a legal issue, it's a regulatory one. It's your own responsibility to keep abreast of what you are paying for.
