Can;t seem to find anything in My Account or online.

Thank you JJ, for the quick response. I can't actually find the contractual terms, maybe can't see for looking.
I have an idea there is no contract on BT Basic.

There is always a contract: what you are presumably asking is whether there is a minimum term.
But if you no longer qualify under the T&C's then BT can presumably end the contract before the end of the minimum term. But only if you inform them that you no longer qualify...

Supposedly, BT periodically check with DWP that customers on BT basic still meet the criteria but it is unclear how frequently this happens. I would expect anyone ejected to be put on the unlimited weekend package and any existing minimum contract term expiry date would just stay the same.

"If your circumstances change and you are no longer in receipt of one of these benefits, you must notify BT so we can review your entitlement to BT Basic."

I am one day in default of not notifying BT about changed circumstances, doubt I will go to prison for that.
However, when I do let them know, as you mention Graham ,I shall be put onto a 12 month contract with Anytime or whatever.
This gives me the option to move before either to EE as mentioned in this weeks site e-mail at £42 net for the first year. or with my broadband provider who are also offering a deal.
Just dug out a letter from BT dated Oct 2013 about changes to prices and terms from Jan 2014.
"You will not be charged if you end your BT Basic service early but charges will apply to other services you may have" and also in bt.com/early termination (subpart 5:conditions).... mention is made that there is no minimum 'period' for BT Basic.

I can't remember how it happened but I was on BT Basic for years and years. Didn't even really think about telling them I wasn't entitled to it anymore. Just carried on with it.
