    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mobius-ActionCam-Full-HD-Sports-Camera-Camcorder-1080P-30FPS-720P-60FPS-/311001974849?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_Video_Camcorders&hash=item4869298841

That is the very first camera in Ebay, and for £60 before you buy the SD card. What is this £20 camera you mention?

As people have mentioned below, this is not the cheapest available. This is for the first result in Ebay. There are cheaper options available. (Do some digging, as some come with a mount, cable, and card, some do not)

The Mobius that I purchased 8 months ago (working still faultlessly) was from
eltoponline, recommended by Techmoan and based in Hong Kong.

Selling today @ £40.25 on eBay,

Did you have to pay import duty or anything like that?

I've never considered a dash cam because I know that I probably wont have it on record when I need it.

I had one accident over the last 3 years and I got hit on my side so the dashcam would not have proven anything. Most importantly I dont think I would have put the dashcam on record anyway because I was driving 1 mile to the supermarket.

Which leads me to the most important point. Dashcams are only useful if you remember to switch them on at the start of every journey.

So if you get one it is very important to wire your car up correctly so the power cord is hidden beneath the roof liner and a puller liner and corrects to the power source where the battery feeds power to the device only when the ignition is on. The dash should automatically start recording when the power is connected and stop recording when the power is turned off (similar to how your satnav operates where it gives you a 30 second countdown on engine off as to whether to stay on or not).

That option is important so if you get hit on the side you can dismount the camera, and continue recording with it so you record a seamless video of you driving along and recording the aftermath of the collision.

It's all well and good buyign these cheap Chinese dashcams for $30 - but do they have these intelligent features enabled?

you should, but the seller will probably mark it as gift or something.

Might not matter to consumers but we buy stuff now and again from china for business and they always do that. It's annoying and a nuisance - we will probably have to pay customs on all of the stuff on year end.

I have the HPF210 and have it fused into my rear wiper so it starts recording when i turn the ignition on and stops 10 seconds after i turn it off. I forget it is there now, great camera if more expensive than most, you get what you pay for, would you really trust a cheap Chinese import off eBay? could be the difference between winning or losing a claim.

Look for Techmoan on Youtube and the mini 0801 , it is a much better dash cam
Another vote for the Mini 0801 here. great bit of kit.
Have either of you bothered with the GPS function or just the standard without it?

Just been watching some of the Techmoan reviews. The Mini 0603 is not much more than the 0601. So do I bother with the GPS logger version or not? Is it worth the extra £7?!
