Why do I find myself always chasing up wins!!

I find myself constantly writing emails to see where my prizes have got to, anyone else have these problems? I've sent 2 emails this morning for comps that ended in April.

I would love to have the chance to chase up wins - I've had the grand total of one calendar all year.
Sorry, no sympathy at all, however if it's all getting too much, forward the WEM's in this direction and I'll take all the stress away for you.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I have had to chase a few prizes up in the past few months - some prizes I had won before Easter! An Easter egg I'd won in March eventually arrived in June! When you have to chase prizes and they arrive so late I always feel it takes the sparkle of winning the prize in the first place:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0

I'll let you know how annoying it all is when i have to chase somethng up.
Who did you contact, is is a promotor on behalf of a company ?0 -
The majority are PR companies you have to chase up I find, that was one of the emails sent today, the other was direct to the company.0

You have to be systematic about it, and don't let it get personal (even if the other party gets that way with you and some will) firstly I wait 4 weeks, unless like one I chased yesterday they said they were posting it 'this afternoon' and two weeks later it still hadn't arrived.
I had 7 prizes roll in over the course of yesterday, some had to be chased some I only won a few days earlier.
First I send a 'concerned' chaser wondering if it has been lost in the post, and asking if it has in fact been despatched and when.
I'm afraid that if a week after theres still no joy or sensible response I go in with 'Sadly... ASA... shortly' etc.
That usually works
BUT
I agree we should not have to chase ANY prizes, it is poor PR and I am sure that was not the intention of the competition. (I sometimes use this phrase in my chaser)
I once won a lip balm, the sponsor acknowledged receipt of my delivery details and then ignored me for many weeks; several email chasers totally ignored, ASA warning ignored, when she actually heard from the ASA she finally responded with a very abusive email about how stupid I was to go to the ASA over a lip balm (I agree I should not have had to take it there) She then advised she would get it sent out 'if it was still available' I advised that if it was not I would expect an alternative prize of equal or greater value as required under the CAP Code. The next day the lip balm arrived. Why on earth would someone run a competition if they intend to conduct it this way?
Best advice have a 'chase up' routine in place and stick to it, treat it like a business matter.0 -
I sent out four emails on Sunday saying I have not received the prize. one was a click to win so no surprise I did not get a reply so just have to wait a week then try again
The other three are blog wins & all were lovely. One turned up Monday morning typical lol the other two are being looked into.
Last year I won many blog comps & did not need to chase a single one. This year I have won many blog comps & I am chasing up lots of them.
It's not the bloggers fault they did everything correctly it's the PR company's where it seems to be going wrong this year.
I have no idea why the PR company's are having so much trouble this year

It isn't always the PR, I had one recently where I gave the blogger my details and a month later I chased up non delivery, she said she would chase it up for me, but a few days later when the prize arrived it had a hand written note apologising for the long delay because the blogger hadn't passed on my details to them until yesterday. She had sat on them for a month until I chased, I got the impression the PR was VERY annoyed about this.0

Yes, I hate chasing up blog prizes as it is not always obvious who has caused the delay and one can blame the other:TA big thanks to all who post and sprinkling lucky dust to all who enter :smileyhea0 -
I've received a reply from the company I messaged directly there was a 'break in communication' and my prize was sent out today, lets wait and see.0

Oh no I've not had that one yet. Now I've said that it will happen
