Alternative policy after CPP claim

Hi, thanks in advance. You were very helpful to me in the past.

I have had a Marks and Spencer Cardsafe policy for many years. I am considering claiming for mis-selling.

My question is what do I do after the policy has been cancelled as a result of claiming? Are there other schemes that will handle the hassle of contacting the card issuer(s), and will provide emergency money etc? I am in my 70's, still do a lot of foreign travel, and like the peace of mind a scheme like this provides. But the premium seems a lot, when they do not need to cover for fraudulent transactions.

Since 2005, my premiums ( for a policy covering two people's credit cards and passports) were paid every 3 years, by DD, and amounted to £55 (2006) +£70 (2009) +£75 (2012) and will be due for renewal in July 2015, so has one year's cover left. So total paid £200.

I had to claim in 2013 for cash stolen in France, and loss of one of my Credit Cards. The amount was £79.17. The service I received was fautless, the operator was polite and helpful, the card was stopped, no unauthorised transactions had happened. I was satisfied.

So the amount I could claim is £120. But I would lose the final year's cover.

Please advise, WW

Of course there are other companies offering similar insurance. This is not the place to recommend/advertise them and you'll have to do your own research, I'm afraid.

The main question which comes to mind is why are you considering a mis-selling complaint when you are obviously happy to continue with the type of insurance you will be complaining you don't need?

Humm? As above, why would you complain about a policy, which did what it was supposed to do, and are satisfied with?
