Redundant payment

Hi,
I'm about to be made redundant but my employer wishes to pay the redundancy fee over a period of 9 months. I would like to know if it's legal for them to pay this in instalments in this way and whether I have any protection during this process.
Many thanks.

I'm puzzled how you can be made redundant 9 months in a row from the same company?
Surely you'd be paying tax on the payments in that case?0
