Why do you suppose what a MP is thinking ?
The last person I knew in similar circumstances managed to throw themselves off a building on the day prior to the trial.

    I don't suppose anything.
What do you expect the MP to do if the alleged* crime hasn't even been reported to the police yet?
There are many problems around and many authorities in place which job is to deal with these problems.
MPs cannot replace them and their job is make the system working if it fails and/or to change the system if needed.

*Alleged - because it's typical for teenagers to lie to their parents after doing stupid things. A possible scenario - the son fell victim of the common scam lured by the offered 'fee' for being a 'financial agent', is now ashamed of this and is making stories. - Just playing the devil's advocate.

My only worry with the police is, once they do what they're obliged to do, will any protection be offered afterwards? This person knows my home address, and I really don't want to risk it.

Well this is a conversation you need to have with the police. If you do nothing then the bank will rightfully assume that your son is a money laundering mule and the fraud marker will be put on file, which will affect him for years to come.

I dont see any problem with have a conversation with your MP but I suspect they will just advise the same (ie go to the Police). I dont think the bank will do anything regarding the claims you make (bank card stolen, threats made and PIN provided) if you havent reported it as a crime.

Your MP could log/engage regarding the issue with the most appropriate authority in parallel with the most appropriate authority attempting to deal with the issue. The select committee of the UK parliament when it as it's best.

There have been gangs pressuring people on the street/ to buy audio equipment or alleged marijuana especially around innocent students new to their environment.

PS. It may be unwise for an MP to solely send papers to the Home Office as they may get lost.

But why on earth would their MP want to use up their limited time running an investigation in parallel to a police one? This case should start at the police - I can see why the bank might find it strange that this hasn't been reported to them already since, in the eyes of the OP, a crime has so clearly been committed.

Part of the alleged crime should be on video.
@VioletLass you are being deliberately obtuse as a log of an event is not an investigation but it may help to expose a pattern that is perhaps evident in certain areas but is not being handled well.

But there's no indication that it's not being handled well - it hasn't even been reported!

(I may be missing your point, but not deliberately - I don't see why the MP would log crimes/events with any authority before the police had had a chance to investigate. Aren't the police just as capable of spotting patterns?)

Are you suggesting all people report all serious crimes to their MPs so that MPs could keep records and look for some patterns? I think this is exactly what the police are supposed to do.

As a side note, if the criminal really "withdrew the rest" in the bank, then the bank is at fault as well. ATM limits are in place for a reason, and the bank failed to do their job of checking the identity of the customer making a big over a counter withdrawal.

I've been to the bank once again, and they've told me that a lot of London banks don't have staff in them, so people can walk in, cash in a fraudulent cheque, and then can later withdraw the money before it bounces, the bank said they will contact me again and see if I should get the police involved I'm just worried for my sons safety, so I'm not sure what to do.

They also told me the fraud mark will remain forever on his account, which is a great hindrance, unless the police are involved.

So, get the police involved, it sounds to me like your son has been the victim of something like demanding money with menaces. And tell him to change his friends.
