Ciao - secure or not?

I want to withdraw my earnings from Ciao. When I request a payment, it asks for my bank details to transfer the money to. However, I don't get the little padlock and the Ciao say.....
To establish a connection to your bank, please fill in all the fields below and click on 'Save account details'.

Information about the security of your data: We receive your bank details in a secure, encoded SSL connection. For technical reasons however (use of a frame), your browser cannot display the lock symbol on the pages that follow.

I'm not happy about this, is it secure or not?

I don't know much about this area so please could someone advise me.

Thanks

PS I'm going to try and contact Ciao and see if they will send me a cheque.

To answer your question yes it's secure. they've had my bank details for nearly two years and I last made a withdrawal almost that time ago.

Having secure connections is expensive. Whereas most sites have the padlock on the page where you input the payment details, some don't, but have the 'sending' phase secure. This is of course the most important part of the transaction, the sending of the data from your computer to their servers.

For ciao, I would not worry. They are a big multi-national site and have been operating for a long time. You're safe.
