Just bought a car and when I got gome discovered that the casing for the underside of the steering column has got a section that has been cut out. About inch and a half wide. Half inch high
Is thus just something that I should have spotted. Or do I have any comeback for them not informing me.
Also the same about a stone chip ob windscreen
Thanks

If its just a cover / casing and not an MOT fail i cant see they will be interested in sorting it.
Likewise with the windscreen - its probably one you should have spotted at the time and hard to claim subsequently.
Does your insurance not repair chips free?0 -
Claiming you didn't see the stone chip is not going to get very far, since it could VERY easily have been gained on the way home.
You mean the column shroud inside the car? I wonder if it has been "cut", or if a blanking plate's gone AWOL, possibly for something not fitted to your particular car - column adjustment, mebbe.
You can always ask them - but it'll VERY much depend on what/how much/how old. If it's a £1000 car, your expectations are MUCH lower than if it's a 3mo manufacturer-approved.0 -
Does it still have a working steering lock, or is it an adjustable steering column?
Forget the stonechip, who's to know when it happened.0 -
