Cheap/ easy way to remove a bleach mark?

I was stupid and left some spray bleach on a stain in our kitchen and forgot I left it there. It's now (ironically) left a bigger stain that's brown and highly noticeable.

Aside from getting an (expensive?) expert cleaner in, is there a way I might be able to remove it myself as scrubbing it is making no difference :(

Bleaching is chemical reaction so difficult to reverse. Camouflaging is ususlly the way forward. What did you bleach?

What is the stain on and what is the cause of it?

Stain is on the counter. The original stain was from red food, that stain has gone, its the bleach stain that I'm trying to remove. My own stupid mistake

What is the counter made of? Eg: is it wood, melamine? If it is wood I would sand it. If you cannot sand it I would go for spraying blotches of bleach over the whole area as a pattern or the whole thing. Or a well placed work top protector.

Another thought if you fancy an experiment. Silver jewellery dip promotes the opposite chemical reaction to bleach. I would test somewhere inconspicous first and don't let it run over the edge of the stain when you treat it.

Let us know if it works:)

If it's a melamine one, you could try a very very fine sandpaper/wire wool?

If the brown stain is what is left after colour has been removed, there is no way that you can put it back.

For future stains I'd recommend Astonish oven and cookware paste or Bar Keeper's Friend powder. They are both very good, as well as being cheap, but the Astonish doesn't leave a residue.
