Hello,
My Samsung TV has decided it does not want to power up anymore and just stays on standby clicking every 2 seconds. It does not react to using the buttons either on the TV itself or the remote control, I am pretty much clueless when it comes to TV electrics so any advice would be very much appreciated!
The information from the back of the TV reads:
Model: LE40R87BD [R]
Model Code: LE40R87BDX/XEU
Type No.: BP40E0
AC220-240V - 50Hz 190W
Thanks in advance

VERy very common problem with samsungs - mine is like it at the minute. Some people have said that if you contact Samsung you can get a free fix as it is a design problem - but I haven't tried it yet!0 -
Capacitors gone. You can buy replacements and fit them yourself, if you feel you are a bit techy. Or, any TV repair shop should be able to fix it easily.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Is it LCD or Plasma?0

we had similar problem with Samsung LCD - LE46A656A1FXXU
In our case, it wouldn't power on and make clicking noise.
OH rang Samsung and reported this incident. Samsung fixed the issue for us without any charge. apparently it was a product fault.0 -
Model number LE....indicates LCD. Plasmas were PS if memory serves.wrightman90 wrote: »Is it LCD or Plasma?Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Not really the same problem but every so often my TV says will turn off in 60 seconds if I don't press the ok button I am not sure if this is to save energy but sometimes I am working around with the TV off and I have to put it back on again Wondering if this is a problem or not I have just had the set for since April
Just wondered if those of you have Samsung could give me your view on this Sorry for the hijack Sue0 -

This is an energy saving setting. Can't remember where the settings are to change it, perhaps check in the menu? What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
Thanks everyone for our replies, what kind of cost should I expect to have to pay, (estimates as I know these things can vary)
Thanks
