hi
my son brought my wife and i an expensive tv for our anniversary.around christmas time. i have unfortunately broken the screen and seems irreparable .. would we be able to claim on my contents insurance ? as it was a gift and the purchase receipt etc is in my sons name ? is it still classed as my property ? ,
would i still be able to claim is what im asking ? thankyou in advance

ok im presuming my insurer would want the receipt and accept that he brought it for us ? may would they need to talk to my son ? thanks for your quick reply0

They wont need the receipt as you still have the broken TV. Only if for some reason they think its a friends/ neighbours etc that you are trying to claim off of your insurance because they are uninsured would the question of ownership come up.
It is when goods are stolen when proof that they ever existed comes up0 -
Check your policy to see if accidental damage to TVs is cover as not all policies do.0
