Very helpful indeed!
I wasn't referring to OP. Rather than just sitting there whining she took action to resolve an issue. Asking your peers for advice and ideas to move your business on and resolve challenges is exactly what I'm talking about.
Through this forum she and others may well now better understand how these people operate and may have got some useful advice.
Mrs_sparrow I applaud your positive attitude:T:T
Mistral001, what an excellent and constructive, useful post, well done:beer:0 -
There's been some contention regarding Ebay customers, some believe that as it isn't via own website, then it is still illegal. Most don't think that way but I have had a couple of email companies tell me they weren't allowed. In my experience the more you pay for sending emails the less fussy the company handling them!If there is a previous business relationship, as with the poster who suggested sending emails, it is legal provided you offer an opt out of future emails. The ICO advice you've quoted relates to emails from senders totally unknown to you.

Whether it is wise to send such emails is another matter.
As for return on emails, I can get up to about 40% click through on around 5000 emails, usually turns into about 10% buyers. These are a mix of long standing customers and newer ones plus website sign ups. I also occasionally include Amazon/Ebay affiliate links, so that usually pays for sending the emails at the very least..0
