my wife is off work on ssp i work full time and my wife wants to stay home and look after our 7 month old daughter. but the thing is if she quit work would we be entitled to benefits as we get working tax and child tax and we are on full rent and council tax. please help if u can

I'm not sure about the answer to your question, although I think you would still be entitled to your tax credits and rent/council tax benefits. If your wife does stay at home, make sure the child benefit is in her name to protect her State Pension.

I dont know about the other benefits but so long as you maintain the same hours (30+) then the only affects on your tax credits would be that they would increase due to the lower income overall.
If you were claiming childcare costs, you would lose this benefit, but then you wouldnt be paying out anyway as your wife would be at home.
One thing to consider though, is how long has your wife been on, how long is she likely to stay on the sick? If it goes over 28 weeks then she may be entitled to incapacity benefit, so it might be worth looking into that dependent on your circumstances0
