I just registered with Experian Credit Expert just to get the 30 days free and find our my credit report (984 and excellent apparently), but how do I now cancel it? Can't see anything on the website and don't want to leave it for 30 days as I might forget.

You have to ring them up to cancel, at which point they'll move into pressure selling mode. One option they'll offer you is a reduced "service" which just lets you view the data they hold on you but doesn't provide that fashion accessory known as ID Theft Insurance. I think it might be about £7 per month for the reduced stuff - might be worth considering. It is, of course, a rip-off verging on criminality to have to pay to see data about yourself, but there you go.0 -

Eek, never realised this. Maybe I shouldn't have signed up. Oh well, I don't want any of it, so won't listen to any pressure selling. My credit rating is excellent and there's no reason for that to change.
Thank you.
Although, how about if I just cancel the direct debit? Will that work?Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I don't think so. They'll probably post a default against you on their files (seriously). When I say their files, I mean their files about you, otherwise known as a credit report.

Ho hum, what a palaver. Oh well, should I wait a few days and then do it as I literally signed up about a half hour ago.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

I wouldn't exactly describe it as 'easy'.
One phone call. As soon as they start trying to suggest you continue to subscribe or sell you another product then simply interupt with 'I am not interested in continuing with any of your services whatsoever or discussing my reasons for cancelling with you, please confirm my account with you has been cancelled".
Should be off the phone within a couple of minutes of the call being answered.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

You don't have a credit rating, nor a credit score since you refer to it previously. You are believing fictitious numbers/words assigned to you by Experian that have no meaning in the real world.0 -
