I know I've asked this question twice already but help!

I've been given use of the screens/room dividers at the hotel we're getting married and wondered how I could go about decorating this?

It will be right next to the "dancefloor". It will span approx 15m!

I have thought about photos but don't like this idea and OH and I have thus far avoided out photo's taken!

Why do you want to divide the room?

Surely you want all the guests to see each other / dancing etc?

No, it's not a divider to divide the room, it's to block part of it off as it's too big!

  • Bunting strung across the top? Or fairy lights (but could be a fire risk).

I'm already putting fairy lights on our wishing tree {they are shaped like roses and look gorgeous}.

I could do bunting draped and then fairy lights draped too couldn't I?

    Thanks MW x

  • You'd need to ask the venue what can be put on it - most will only let you use blue tac, which won't hold fairy lights. Then have a think about what you want.

Perhaps have a projector with photos of the happy couple, friends, family etc?

These screens are pin board type and I have the go ahead to attach anything we like. But it is probably going to be a draping job rather than a full on pinning in job.

If the boards are pin board types then stick up loads of family photos. Ones of you both when you're younger (people love looking at those), ones of both your parents each at their own respective weddings (if they're married/ still together), loved ones who have passed away or couldn't be there etc etc.

Thanks but I don't like the photograph idea. My dad has remarried my mum has passed away and PH's parents are divorced and both moved on to further relationships. There are 15m of screens so there would have to be lots of photo's and we just don't have that many. I think bunting and fairy lights might work :)

  • What about big sheets of paper or cloth? Get a sign made up and ask people to write on it their best memory of your day, advice for a good relationship etc. This would make a nice keepsake for you after too

  • What about having a guest book on there? A large piece of canvas for one of them and get people to sign it :D
