Neff built in oven cutting out.

Our Neff oven is around four years old, and I bought it because I believed that Neff appliance were pretty good.
However, about a year after we bought it, it simply cut out one day, when it was warming up. I switched it off and reset it, and it was then fine.
However, the problem has got worse, and does not happen just when the oven is hot.
Today was the worst. I switched it on, and there was a slight metallic "ping" and the display switched off. I tried to reset it but to no avail. Ten minutes later I tried it and it worked for a few minutes, then switched itself off.
I have done some "Googling, and it seems that some Neff ovens have a problem with a thermo cutout switch, however this is happening even before the cooking programme ahs been chosen and the temperature selected.
Any ideas folks?
