I won tickets to an event and never received them through a magazine.

I won tickets to an event with a magazine and never received them, the event has now gone and the magazine is offering me only a magazine subscription which I already get and say they are non transferable.
What are my options and what are the laws on this?

Do you have a copy of the T&Cs? Do they say the promoter has the right to substitute prizes, etc?

Might have been an idea to tell them before the event that you didn't receive the tickets. I think they're being very reasonable. Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.

If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

Why didn't you contact them prior to the event happening? Unless it was a competition win that was happening a few days after the competition closed then I'm sure you would've had time to chase things up.
Did they actually state that the tickets would be sent to you? I've won tickets to two different events and both times I had to collect them on the day of the event/showing at the box office.
If they've offered a subscription as an alternative prize then they I would've thought be entitled to do that. How long have you got left on your current subscription? Why not ask if when your current subscription finishes they automatically re subscribe using the prize they offered for a new year0 -
The Ts and Cs will likely say they have the right to substitute for a prize of equal value...
What did you expect them to replace the tickets with, given the event has now passed?!
Ask them if you can extend your current subscription, so you still benefit from their subscription prize offer... If they say no, and it's in the Ts and Cs that they'll substitute for a prize of equal value, point out that the prize isn't of any value at all unless they refund or extend your current subscription.
But, all in all, a prize is still a prize

To certain events I don't think they send tickets you just turn up & your name's on a list. This happened to me when I won a trip to the theatre, I never realised & I missed out on my prize too.0

I did contact them before. I had an email 10 days before the event saying that they would be delivered to me within 5 working days. I contacted them 3 days before event and they came back to me the day after.0

So, have you gone back to them and asked about extending your subscription, as was suggested above?
And have you reviewed the comp's Ts and Cs?
You've received some good advice, so I'm sure we'd like to know how you've got on
