I bought a mobile phone from Expansys,I charged it up,set it up,put it down to use later, when I went back to the phone it would not power up,tried everything to get it going,so,I contacted Expansys who said I would have to return it,fair enough, but this could take up to 10 days,in which I have no phone, and I need it urgently,do I have to accept a repair,or indeed a new phone and wait up to 10 days? Can I not just get a refund so I can get another phone??Any constructive advice would be helpful....;)

I'm assuming you bought it in the last week or so? If so then just reject it. Send it back and get a full refund including postage.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
Yes,ordered Friday last week,delivered yesterday,they are collecting it today,I just can't wait 10 days,this is the problem,I need the phone.....will call them again.0

Nice and simple then. Just make it clear in the packaging, by email and even on the phone. You are rejecting it. Don't leave anything unclear.
Then go and buy another from them or another shop.Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies0 -
You should be able to get a refund if acceptance hasnt occurred.
However they don't need to immediately refund you as its reasonable they want to inspect the item (to make sure it is inherently faulty and not user damage for example) before refunding. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
UPDATE: The phone IS faulty, they have sent a replacement by Parcelforce, won't arrive until Monday, that is a whole week without the phone, any point moaning,or just be grateful they are sending a new one?0

Bit late moaning now, By the time you phone them to complain the phone maybe on your doorstep.
Why didnt you reject it last week as advised?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
A refund may have taken 30 days to process, chalk it up to bad luck and be glad you had a fairly easy exchange process.Back by no demand whatsoever.0

I think the OP has unreasonable expectations of how quickly things get sorted out.0

You should have rejected it as advised here.0
