    4. conduct (e.g. adultery) should be taken into account in settlements - as things stand, my wife can sue me for HER adultery (or vice versa).

    Errrr...no...she can't sue you for her adultery, just as you couldn't sue for adultery if you had committed it. However a divorce on the grounds of UB is so easy neither of you would need to worry about.
    No reliance should be placed on the above.

    It's odd, the statistic about most divorces are women divorcing men. My DH has been divorced twice (before marrying me in 2002). In both cases, he moved out of an intolerable situation, but divorce was - as the statistic shows - his ex-wives divorcing him.

    The whole thing about adultery almost came up - ex got more pounds signs in her eyes when she thought she could claim against my home and pensions income . His 'unreasonable behaviour' had been the reason up to then, even though he'd moved out because of the way she behaved!!

    love your stories....his step daughter was 15 when they moved in but im not sure where she went to when she moved out..she is now 18+ but he cant kick her out apparantly coz she has rights too...sod his rights..hope bloody jack straw does something.
