I see a price for a unit at market close e.g GBP 130.8435 and then a value box where i enter a monetary value in pounds and pence.
Yes, the price per unit is for information only, it is the last published price they can show you, as an indication of how the fund is doing since the last time you looked up the price. It is not live realtime pricing, they only reprice them once per day, based on the latest calculated net asset figures.

The monetary value that you enter yourself is then how many pounds you want to invest. You place the order and then when they next price it, they would see how much units they could give you for your pounds. If you are only investing £100 you would get less than a unit, if investing £150 you'd get a bit more than a unit
The price listed is a pounds and pence figure i assume!?
If it says GBP then yes. If it says GBx it is pence. But it doesn't matter because if you just tell them how much cash to deploy, they will buy you as m many units they can, including fractions.

If they have transaction fees they will usually ask if the amount you specify includes them or not. So a £200 purchase might get 195 spent on funds, or perhaps all £200 on funds and they grab the fiver out of your cash account.

Ok thanks guys that's definitely cleared things up for me. All this has really arisen after I made some deals on iWeb but my orders are listed as active on iWeb and they haven't been executed yet and it nearly been a week so was wondering if there was an issue but they haven't contacted me.
